There’s nothing like riding through the mountains in a majestic cruiser. And talking of majestic cruisers, there’s not too many like the Shadow Phantom. Honda’s sublime bike Shadow Phantom is getting an upgrade again. With a new year, there’s always a new model. And so 2018 Honda Shadow Phantom is coming out with a few new additions.
2018 Honda Shadow Phantom – Body and Fuel Economy
The last major update in Phantom happened back in 2015. So it means that some changes were overdue. The bike is quite light even though it is a cruiser. It weighs only 550 pounds. And some great body designing keeping it light. That shedding of weight expresses itself beautifully in the form of fuel economy. You can get 56 mpg out of it with good maintenance.
The 2018 Shadow Phantom has a beautiful design. The combination of black and matte silver is just something you can’t take your eyes off. And so Honda hasn’t changed much in it’s appearance. That is understandable given the popularity of this vehicle’s trademark look. Best point about appearance is the color of engine and handlebars. It’s all black, quite unlike other cruisers who tend to go with the steel shine.
2018 Honda Shadow Phantom – Engine
Engine in this vehicle is a monster. It is a 750cc V-Twin engine with liquid cooling. Also, it has 3-valves per cylinder and is a single overhead cam engine. It produces a power of 40.5 hp @5500 rpm a torque is 47.9 lb-ft. @3500 rpm. All these mates with a 5-speed manual transmission. Whether Honda will put an auto transmission is something nobody is sure about.
